KCA Deutag secures French shale-oil drilling contract

Hess Oil contracts KCA Deutag for its French Paris Basin permits

Hess Oil has contracted drilling and engineering firm KCA Deutag for its shale-oil exploration campaign in its French Paris Basin permits, which it operates with partner Toreador Resources. The contract, which starts in February 2011 and is worth around €6.5m, comprises the drilling of six firm wells, with two further well options.
