Contract areas under Iraq's second oil licensing round
 Najmah The Najmah oilfield is situated in Nineveh governorate, 50 km south of Mosul. Discovered in 1934, the field is 11 km long and 4.5 km wide. Najmah is an anticlinal structure trending northwest-southeast. Significant accumulations of heavy oil (15-20°API) have been discovered in the shallow Miocene Jeribe/Euphrates formations and the late Cretaceous Hartha formation. Thirty-three wells have been drilled to-date in the field. Qaiyarah The Qaiyarah oilfield is in Nineveh governorate, some 70 km south of Mosul. Discovered in 1928, the field is 10 km long and 4 km wide. The field has tested sour, heavy oil, with gravity in the range of 15-18°API and sulphur content of 3-7%, in the Miocene Jeribe/Euphrates and late Cretaceous Hartha carbonate reservoirs. Eighty six wells have been drilled to-date and production started in 1936.
