China CBM joint venture under way

Damon Evans, SINGAPORE: China United Coalbed Methane (CUCBM) and its US partner Asian American Gas are primed to develop the first Sino-foreign joint commercial coal-bed methane (CBM) project in China. The pair have received the official nod for their overall development plan (ODP) for the Panzhuang CBM project in central China's Shanxi province and are targeting commercial CBM output of 500 million cubic metres a year (cm/y) by early 2014.
