Microsoft is teaming up with the oil industry and other IT suppliers to create common standards for upstream software, writes Anne Feltus

AN AMBITIOUS initiative spearheaded by Microsoft aims to slice through the software silos that make it difficult for professionals working in different upstream disciplines to exchange information electronically.
